Gautrain commuters where horrified on Monday morning when a man pulled out a firearm and gunned down a woman before shooting himself in the head.
The shooting happened after 7am between a Mercedes Benz dealership and the Gautrain station.
According to onlookers, the man was waiting for the woman as she left the Pretoria station precinct.
"He started shouting at her and then he fired," said one of the witnesses, who did not want to be identified.
The pair were declared dead at the scene.
While the shooting initially drew interest from commuters, by 9.30am there were only a few people milling around as police carried out their investigations.
It is believed the woman worked in the area.
